An elder and the Community Engagement and Involvement (CEI) representative from Makandana village
An elder and the Community Engagement and Involvement (CEI) representative from Makandana village of Makandana ward expressing great concerns about the community need for mental health support for elderly people of Rungwe District in Mbeya, Tanzania. This was the first insight of the use of CEI as the advocate for the establishment of a Dementia clinic at Tukuyu District Hospital in Rungwe, Mbeya, Tanzania. Vijiji Tanzania was able to capture different personal experiences regarding Dementia in the community. Vijijii Tanzania is now working on the urgent need for specialized care and support for affected individuals.
